The Hilton Head Bold Beer Festival is an afternoon of pure indulgence for beer aficionados. Now in its second year, this three-hour event showcases a diverse selection of bold beers including Imperial IPAs, Belgian Golden Strongs, Tripels, Quads, Sours, Stouts, and more.
The 2025 festival is scheduled for Saturday, March 1st from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, making it a perfect afternoon activity during your Hilton Head vacation. Just remember it's a rain or shine event, so plan accordingly!
What makes this festival special is its focus on high-gravity beers – those with higher alcohol content and more complex flavors that truly stand out from your everyday brews.
Beyond the amazing beer selection, you'll enjoy live music while sampling your brews, and there's even an option to pair your beer experience with premium cigars if that's your thing.
The festival is organized by Bear Foot Sports, who've hosted over 200 beer festivals in the past 30 years, so they definitely know how to put on a great event!
Location
The festival takes place at Shelter Cove Community Park, a beautiful waterfront location on Hilton Head Island. The park offers gorgeous views and a relaxed atmosphere that perfectly complements the festival vibe.
While you're in the area, you can explore the shops and restaurants at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina, which is just a short walk away. The location is ideal for making a full day of your visit – perhaps shopping or enjoying water activities before heading to the festival.
Tickets & Pricing
There are two ticket options available, and I'd recommend grabbing them in advance to save a few bucks:
- Beer Only Discovery Quest ($50 advance/$60 at door): Includes 18 premium beer samples (2 oz. each)
- Beer & Cigar Package ($50 advance/$60 at door): Includes 2 premium cigars and 10 premium beer samples (2 oz each)
Advance tickets are available until 10am on the day of the event. If you decide to buy at the door, remember it's cash only! Additional beers and cigars are available for purchase at the event (also cash only).
