About
WingFest is a beloved annual island tradition, now in its 29th year, bringing together 20-25 local restaurants to compete for the title of Hilton Head's best wings.
Fun fact: They serve over 8,000 pounds of chicken wings during this single-day event!
The festival has a relaxed, fun atmosphere where you can sample different wing flavors while enjoying live music and entertainment.
The event is more than just delicious food - it's a fundraiser for the Children's Scholarship Fund, so your attendance supports a great cause. The competition gets pretty heated (pun intended) with both a People's Choice award and a Judges' award up for grabs.
Location
WingFest takes place at Lowcountry Celebration Park, located at 94 Pope Avenue in Hilton Head Island.
The park itself is gorgeous - opened in 2020, it features an adventure playground, open pavilion, walking paths, and plenty of space for the festival to spread out. It's centrally located near many shops and restaurants in the Coligny area, so you can easily make a full day of exploring this part of the island.
Tickets & Pricing
Entry to WingFest is super affordable at just $10 for adults, while children under 11 get in free!
Once inside, you'll need to purchase wing punch cards to sample from the various vendors:

- 12 Wings for $22 (saving you $2)
- 24 Wings for $44 (saving you $4)
- 50 Wings for $90 (saving you $10)
Beyond wings, you'll find drinks and other food options available for purchase. Beer and wine run $6-9, cocktails $8-11, and soft drinks $3.50. The Kid's Zone costs $12 (with discounts for multiple children), and activities like the bungee jump and rock climbing wall range from $6-10.
Important note: The festival is cashless - they accept credit cards and Apple Pay only!
Unique Features
The live music lineup runs throughout the day, with bands playing from 11am until closing at 5pm.
The competitions are hilarious to watch (or participate in if you're brave). The Adult Wing Eating Contest starts at 2pm, and the Kids Wing Bobbing Competition begins at 2:50pm.
Our personal highlight from attending the event in previous years was tasting wings from so many different restaurants and casting our vote for the People's Choice award.
For families, the Kid's Zone is fantastic with plenty to keep children entertained. The rock climbing wall and bungee jump are huge hits with kids and adults alike. The whole event has a festival atmosphere that's welcoming to all ages.
Pro tip: Don't miss the winner announcements at 4:15pm - it's fun to see if your favorite wings take home the trophy!
